Classroom courses and Money Trail

Our face-to-face, multi-day Introduction to Investigating Illicit Finance course is hugely popular with talented journalists and activists around the world.

Our classroom course is where it all began for Finance Uncovered. With the help of our generous funders we would award bursaries for up to 30 journalists from around the world to attend our flagship course in London for four days.

We engaged a range of trainers – some of the best journalists, forensic accountants, anti-money laundering professionals and campaigners in their fields – to demystify the world of illicit finance.

In 2018, we joined our brilliant partners, Free Press Unlimited, journalismfund.eu and Oxfam Novib to form the Money Trail consortium.

This allowed us to take our classroom course on the road to Jakarta and Abuja.

And then Covid struck.

As things stand in early 2022, we do not have any plans for imminent classroom courses: international travel is still too uncertain and complicated.

But watch this space: they definitely will return.

Hundreds of talented journalists and activists loved them. Not only that, the courses were also the launchpad for many impactful collaborations between the journalists who attended.
